At Select, we believe in the goodness and uniqueness of every human being. We are sincerely concerned with the things that concern the talented people and employers we work with and how they can grow professionally. We like to take the time to get to the heart of the matter with them. And that’s really what makes all the difference in Outplacement coaching. Marc Hoedt explains how he experienced this in the coaching he received from our career coach, Barbara Trouilhet.
Your previous job came to an end. Can you tell me more about that?
There were some professional concerns on my part. We didn’t always share the same point of view and therefore, there was some dissatisfaction. At some point, we made a joint decision to bring the cooperation to an end. I opted for Select’s outplacement coaching with career coach Barbara Trouilhet. (Select Gosselies)
What were your expectations for your coach and for the coaching to be provided?
I was mainly looking for encouragement. Renewed courage. I wanted to discover who I am and how I can grow when faced with challenges. I also wanted to reanalyse and optimise my CV. And finally, thanks to all that, I wanted to give my self-confidence a much needed boost.
Barbara has fully lived up to those expectations.
How did you experience her advice?
Interesting and even pleasant. She has helped me to think about other things, to think more positively, and to give me the necessary time and food for thought.
What was the big advantage for you?
For me, it was a truly ‘restorative’ experience. My self-confidence has been completely rebuilt. She helped me to express myself much better and to not only map out my professional plan but also to explain it fully and clearly.
What were you satisfied with?
The initial meeting, the patience she showed, the time she took for me, and the freedom she gave me by mapping out my expectations so thoroughly.
Where do you work now?
I work at a printing office now. I feel really comfortable there. They are extremely professional, very well organised, structured, and neat. The boss really knows the trade and knows what he’s talking about (which is very rare nowadays).
